Home Theater Equipment For Your Home Theater System

We all love to go to the cinema to relax and watch movies, but having your own home theater equipment allows you to experience this surrealism in the comfort of your own home.

The key to the amazing cinema experience is the sound and the picture quality of the movie because of its surround sound system and wide screen. Bringing this kind of technology into the home is a popular concept and does not have to cost a fortune, but as with all things, you get what you pay for.

A simple basic home theatre is relatively easy to set up with the main components being a DVD player, three speakers and a television. However in order to have a total experience, you will need additional home theatre equipment such as:

  • A flat panel HD television or rear projection TV
  • Front projectors
  • Loud speakers
  • Subwoofers
  • AV receivers
  • Blue-ray players
  • Preamplifiers
  • Power amplifiers
  • Video processors
  • Media servers
  • Remote
  • Furniture racks
  • AC power

Then there are accessories, such as a pair of headphones that are comfortable and make listening a pleasure and maybe equipment cases.  It is necessary to buy according to your budget and remember that much complementary equipment will add to your experience, but you don’t have to get yourself into debt.

Many experts suggest that you need a television set of adequate size, but this doesn’t mean that you have to buy the largest one in the store. A small room will need a smaller set than a larger room, but as a general rule of thumb look for one with at least a 28-inch screen.

To find good equipment at a low price is difficult but it can be done especially if you use the best online shops such as Amazon who also offer free shipping.

In reality, the costs of larger TV screens, DVD players, higher quality speakers and VCR’s are continually coming down in price and today you can buy models with far more features at probably five times lower than its original price.

A package surround system and TV is the most cost effective but may not give the same quality sight and sound. So before making the final decision there is an important question to ask your self:

  • Is this a permanent or starter system? If permanent then you will need to match components and buy the best quality possible especially the speakers. A build as you go system will also benefit from quality brand names with a long warranty, but try to avoid extended store warranties.
  • If it is going to be a starter system then it is better to spend as much money as possible on one component that you are going to keep in the future.  Then the rest of your funds can buy the remaining components for as little as possible because you know that you will be replacing them eventually.

It’s possible to save a considerable amount of money by not spending on functions that you don’t need e.g. if you are going to get stereo from a stereo VCR or AV receiver, then you will not need a stereo television.

You should also consider that it’s possible to pay sixty percent more for a few extra diagonal inches, especially if you are planning to expand later. Importantly spend as much time as possible planning within your budget and you will not go far wrong when it comes to choosing home theater equipment!
